Material Research Laboratory
Among the sealing materials, the design of rubber formula is extremely complicated and arduous task. For over 10 years, NAK put a lot of effort into developing rubber formula, and has become a leader in this sector for technology development. For material testing, NAK has incorporated a highly advanced in-house Material research laboratory with state of the art equipment to test rubber composition of materials in order to accommodate with customer requirements.
At present, NAK develops rubber formula in accordance with the environmental compliancy regulations to achieve clients' demands and reduce its carbon footprint. Predominantly seals must resist high temperatures, pressures and extreme conditions varying with each different customer based applications.
NAK supplies sealing materials such as rubber, TPE and resin, which are chosen according to the condition in which they are applied. For example Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) includes TPU, TPV, TPEE, TPU is mainly applied to equipment under high pressure and wearing conditions. TPV and TPEE are used in dust boot for automobiles. PTFE is a type of resin, which is mainly applied to machines under high pressure, high temperature, and wearing conditions. PTFE can be applied in a wide temperature range.
The following is a list of the instruments that NAK uses to test the rubber compounds;
• Hardness Tester
• Tensile Testing Machine
• Specific Gravity Tester
• Rubber compounding machine
• Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
• Low Temperature Brittleness Tester
• Compression Set Tester
• Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA)
